GlobalFest showcases Calgary’s cultural diversity and artistic excellence with an explosive annual festival that features a series of spectacular firework shows each dedicated to a different culture. Hosted in Elliston Park, GlobalFest also celebrates multiculturalism by treating festivalgoers to international food flavours, authentic handcrafted keepsakes, and musical inspiration from around the globe.

Where is your favourite place to eat or visit in Calgary?

There are so many amazing places to eat in the city, but since we host a variety of cultural food options at GlobalFest, we believe that GlobalFest is the best place to eat in YYC.

Any tips or advice for Calgary newcomers or those considering a move to Calgary?

We are an amazingly diverse city filled with world travelers, job seekers, and dreamers seeking a better life. We are proud that we can to tell people with confidence that they can always feel comfortable asking a Calgarian for help. Calgary is a friendly city!

What do you tell your friends and family from other cities about life in Calgary?

Calgary has chinooks! In the middle of winter, a chilly day can turn into picnic-worthy weather in almost an instant.

Where do you take friends and family when they visit?

Summertime means festival time, from Stampede to GlobalFest and everything in-between. Otherwise, 17th Avenue, Kensington, Bridgeland, and Inglewood give our city a unique flavour and are always fun to visit.

How has the city influenced who you are or your organization?

GlobalFest was built to showcase and celebrate the cultures that come together in Calgary. The city’s spirit makes us thrive!
